Classes at Crop on the Cape: This is a great time to take some time to learn new techniques, learn about different products and tools. Take some time to break away from your cropping and be creative with one of our fabulous teachers! Classes are on a first come first serve basis.

Birthday Cards

In this class you will create 3 unique birthday cards featuring Unity stamps. You will have a chance to play with Twinkling H2O’s, Creative Imaginations papers and more. Learn more about Luminarte products, and tips on how to color better with them!

Class Supplies Needed: Tape Runner, Foam Tape, Quickie Glue Pen, Detail Scissors, QuickStick (if you have one) Paint Brushes (I reccommend the pack of Claudine Hellmuth ones), and cup/bowl for water.

Birthday Celebration 2 Page Layout

You never have a shortage of birthday photos, but coming up with fun layouts to display them on is sometimes tough. Melissa Oliveira has designed a fun and festive double page layout using Core’dinations Color Core Cardstock with patterned paper and cardstock stickers from Simple Stories that is sure to make a great home for those boy OR girl birthday snap shots! In this class, you will learn several techniques for getting the most out of the color core cardstock to make your layouts pop without much effort. Melissa will also share with you her favorite technique for creating your own paper bunting that is perfect for title work. She will even show you a fabulous trick for creating your own faux-polaroid style photos, a technique you will use over and over again on future projects.

You Brighten My Days, 2 Page Layout

Join Melissa to create a bright and playful two page layout using Core’diantions Color Core cardstock and patterned paper from My Minds Eye. Add depth and dimension to your pages without adding loads of pricy products. Learn techniques to make the most out of the color core cardstock as you make your own journaling lines and “frame” the layout in a few easy steps. You will also create custom embellishments that you can reproduce over and over again for any theme. Melissa is even including a unique handmade journaling tag with each layout!

Cricut 101

You know how to turn your Cricut on and cut something, but now what? Confused about Real Dial Size and Paper Saver mode? Not sure if you need to Auto Fill or Flip? Don’t worry, we’ll cover all of the features and discover the many possibilities of the Cricut. We’ll make a one page 12x12 layout using the Cricut in class, so you can try out some of the features and techniques hands on.  Make the most of your scrapping weekend by gaining a better understanding of the versatile Cricut.  Feel free to bring any cartridges or accessories you have questions about, they will be addressed as time permits.  Please note: You are welcome to take the class if you are considering purchasing a Cricut, to gain an overview of the machine.  Complete materials and instructions for layout project will be provided to all students. 

Class Supplies Needed: Plantin Schoolbook or George and Basic Shapes cartridge, Cricut machine, (Expression, Original, or Create), Cricut cutting mat, paper trimmer, scissors, adhesive, adhesive for ribbon, paper piercer. Optional: brown and/or black inks, other Cricut cartridges, paper scraps for practice cuts.

Mickey Mini Album Cricut Class

Note: No Cricut, but love the Mickey album? There a limited number of seats available that will have precut kits ready for the making. Be sure to indicate kit on the registration form

Create an adorable mini album for your Disney memories, all with the Cricut! In this class you’ll cut all the pieces for the album using your Cricut, and add plenty of Disney themed embellishments and ribbons, and put it all together with metal rings. Get some more hands on experience with your Cricut, and a perfect showcase for all of your Disney photos!

Class supplies needed: Mickey and Friends Cartridge, Mickey Font Cartridge, Cricut machine, (Expression or Original), Cricut cutting mat, paper trimmer, scissors, adhesive, hole punch.

Pretty Pictures Vol 3

Tips and techniques to create beautiful photographs for your scrapbook pages. Learn how to tell your story through one photograph or 10, and make your pages shine!  Tips for shooting in the worst conditions--auditoriums, dark rooms, super bright sunshine, and the dreaded school gymnasiums. Learn to change your title from “Picture-Taker” to “Photograph-Maker”!

Class Supplies Needed: bring notebook and pen, and your camera is optional!

Photo Walk
with Sarah Kristiansen

Level: Geared toward DSLR-users, though point and shooters are welcome. Class is limited to 12 participants!
cost: $50


After a quick review of camera settings, we will head out to shoot! A hands on photography lesson, where we take our cameras off of AUTO and learn how to use Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority, and metering on full manual! (That’s right…manual!) All class participants will receive a quick-start guide and a credit toward one of Sarah’s full-day photography workshops.

Class Supplies Needed: If you bring a digital SLR also bring your favorite lens, (if you have a 50mm fixed lens, this is the best one to bring!), you can also bring a point and shoot or your cell phone camera, a notebook and pen!

Thank You Cards
